Stumbling Upon Magic

Sometimes you just stumble upon magic.  While randomly wandering down yet another street in Trinidad we found this wonderful scene.  Could we have found a better scene? I think not! Come on, a blue car with its door open in a garage with colorful doors. And then, (see below) a young boy in his school outfit popped out of nowhere. Magic!  Don’t forget you can click on a image to make it bigger.

Nice series on images showing how the scene developed, John. I especially like the final one – its the natural pose of the child with the mud on his knees that makes this so natural.

Lovely series, John. I’m not just saying this to be awkward – honest! – but I prefer the first image because of the more golden quality of the light.

Shaun, obviously I like all three as I processed each. On the last one a cloud provided softer more diffused light. For the others the sun was indeed out and somewhat golden. I added a bit more gold in processing too. For me the last captures the essence of the scene… Cuba plate, boy and part of the car. As Dewitt Jones would say, each is another right answer. :) Always appreciate your insight and comments.

this is great – how perfect…the little boy in the school uniform next to the old car (so typical of Cuba) showing the Cuban license plate!

Well done, John. Yes, it is magic – you captured a great series of moments.

and I think I photographed that car as it ambled down the lumpy cobblestones in Trinidad! It was great to see you there – perhaps we’ll meet again in January 2014? I’m scheduled…
