 Cape Cod – Massachusetts

With Betty Wiley

October 2-5, 2016 – SOLD OUT, Wait list

Due to the interest in our Cape Cod workshops and with the one below filling so quickly, we have decided to add our Chatham based workshop for 2016.  This workshop will begin on Sunday afternoon and end on Wednesday after a morning shoot and breakfast together.  The details of this workshop are much the same as described below except it is one day shorter. It is the same workshop that Betty and I have done the last two years.

Cape Cod – Massachusetts

With Betty Wiley

October 6-10, 2016

Limited to 12 participants

With the success of the last two years of workshops on the Cape, I’ve decided work with photographer, Betty Wiley again.  This time moving to the LOWER and OUTER Cape! All the images used below are Betty’s.

This workshop will begin Thursday afternoon with a meet and greet and a sunset shoot, and end Monday morning, after a sunrise shoot, and breakfast. We will be going out for sunrise and sunset shoots each day. During the day, we will teach processing techniques or shoot depending on the weather and light. This is a general itinerary, each day’s schedule varies due to the location we visit, how long we shoot, and can change depending on the weather.

For 2016, we will be offering an entirely new and special workshop exploring the many photogenic areas of lower and outer Cape Cod. For this workshop, we will be based in Eastham, adjacent to the Cape Cod National Seashore, with several lighthouse, beautiful beaches, marshes and small hidden harbors. We will cover the areas of the Cape from Eastham all the way to the tip of the Cape in Provincetown with the possibility of including a visit to a cranberry bog harvest (weather and season permitting) in Harwich. This area is truly a photographer’s paradise. The workshop includes a trip into the dunes in Provincetown culminating at one of the most picturesque lighthouses on the Cape. (The fee to get to this lighthouse is included in your fee)

This year we are adding an extra day so we can include more photo shoots!  The Cape in October is pretty special!  We hope you can join us again or for the first time!

The goal of this workshop is to guide you to make photographs with more impact. We will help to develop your photographic vision. We’ll cover the quality of natural light, color, visual depth, visual design, and composition in landscape and close up technique. You will learn how to creatively photograph using different techniques and lenses.  We encourage you to read your manual, and know how to use your camera when you get to the workshop. This will help you move forward with creativity and vision.

Betty lives on the Cape and has been photographing there for many years. Many of her award winning images, have been featured in magazines, and articles over the years.  Make sure to click on this link to view Betty’s amazing images, especially the Cape Cod folio.  Be prepared to be blown away!  You might want to pick up her excellent eBook about the Cape on her website too!
