Workshops 2021 – 2022

“I asked one of his students how many times she had taken one of John’s classes. Her response –
“15 times”. 15 times?!

Nobody takes a seminar with the same photographer 15 times!
Well, they do with John and that’s what makes him truly… extraordinary!”

The Palouse in all of its Splendor

June 13-18, 2022 – Deposit $500.00

Limited to 11 participants – Just one spot left.

Join Cathy and me as we explore one of the most beautiful places in our country, The Palouse.  This will our 15th year leading a tour in this richly photogenic area. The Palouse is a dry farming area where much of our wheat and other grains are grown.

Our days will be spent photographing the landscape including beautiful barns, abandoned farms, windmills, farm equipment and retired work trucks, and other vehicles in various stages of decay. We’ll catch one or more sunsets from atop Steptoe Butte, a 3,612 feet high butte that towers over the surrounding countryside affording a birds-eye view of the fields below. It’s an opportunity to use long lenses to capture stunning shots of the undulating landscape. (Note: The road to Steptoe was supposed to be closed this year for repaving.  It did not close and the work was not done.  It is scheduled to be done next spring, 2022.  No one knows for sure when.  Rest assured if Steptoe is closed there are a plethora of other incredible opportunities in the Palouse, in fact, most of my favorite images are NOT from Steptoe.)
