On one of the last days of the 2nd tour, we had a bit of time to fill before we went to dinner. We decided to head over to a bay to see what we might find. Well, we found happiness! An old deteriorating boat in beautiful grasses. WOW!
I’m adding a 2nd version below. For this one, I used a preset in the Totally Rad, RADLAB plug-in. The preset added a really nice GLOW and a bit more contrast. No, this is not the same as Totally Rad Dirty Pictures that I use for texture work. This is another product they make called RADLAB. What makes this product unique is that you are essentially getting preset actions with the ability to adjust them to taste. Worth a look and you can try it for 30 days of course. Really good for “people” photography. Yes there is a discount, so head to my discounts page if you choose to purchase.
Beautiful!
I “like” the first one better. The darker grasses in the front give me a nice flow from front to back. In the second one, the dark water in the back is the first thing I see.
Thank you for the excellent feedback Lea. I tend to agree but I do like the way the action affected the grasses. Maybe I can use the best of both images! 🙂
I like it! Very tranquil scene, with “vertical layers.” Reminds me of a Monet setting.
Wonderful find, John. My preference is for the first image as everything seems much more balanced. The dark water in the second image appears a little unnatural.
Always appreciate your thoughtful comments Mark.
So, the next chore on my list is to find an old boat and pull it from place to place as a sort of “still life” subject! Beautiful capture, John and I’m darn jealous.
Well Dan, I have a boat I can sell ya. 🙂
What a great find! I like the first best..great texture in the boat….love the grasses….
John … does your discount code work for the RadLab actions?
Yes it does Dan. If you encounter an issue let me know. They are great to work with.
