When we were in Death Valley, our focus was the dunes, however, we decided to take one run at Zabriskie for sunrise. It is an iconic spot not to be missed. We picked the right day as we were treated to a great moment. By far the best sunrise light and clouds I’ve seen there. I’ve included a color and B&W version.

There is nothing like the gift of a great sky. Especially in Death Valley. Bring that sky with you to the Smokies please.
I love both shots but the b/w really speaks to me. Beautiful work. The skies here in ND have been monochromatic the last week or so, so yes, send the skies to ND as well. Thanks for the beautiful start to my day.
The color sunrise shot is beautiful but the b&w for some reason really appeals to me. It seems more dramatic. Both are wonderful shots.
Stunning ! It’s difficult not to spend a morning there.
Great b&w! Great tones!
Very interesting how you can see the cloud shadow lines more in the monochrome version than the color version. I like the black and white the best. Lovely clouds- the sort of thing you pray for when in Death Valley.
