Below you will find more images from my recent trip to Death Valley. Enjoy! Oh and remember to see the images bigger, click on them
The first image is from The Alabama Hills in Lone Pine CA. I was drawn to the texture on the background rock in shadow and then the gentle curve of the lighter rock in the foreground.
The next image is a result of the foreground and background being in deep shadow due to the clouds. The sun was lighting up the middle ground. This composition screamed to be photographed!
The Image below was made in the Salt Basin in Death Valley. It is the rain water seeping onto the valley floor. We could see it growing inch by inch…. very slowly.
This collection of images from Death Valley make me think of Georgia O’Keeffe’s work. Very nice!
Thank you Gayle. I believe it is some of my best B&W dune work.
Fabulous pictures, John
Thank you dear Mimi! I miss you and Donna.
OOOOHHHHH AHHHHHHH! Gorgeous, every one of them!!!!
THANK YOU Carla. :). Hugs to you and Bill.
John, your craftmanship continues to grow which is something given what a high level it’s been at for years. I’ve been fortunate to shoot in the alabama hills but your vision dazzles me. Can’t wait to shoot and learn from you again.
If the sb900 is still available I’d like it. I’m going to treat my friend
Be well,
george
Thanks George! Good to hear from you. Yes, the SB900 is still available. I just sent you and email..
You really nailed it with these images! Great to see you out there and looking forward to working with you and the group in Charleston!
Thank you Steve. I am looking forward to having you as a co-leading on the Charleston and Palouse trips this year!
John, these are spectacular. Every one is pristine perfection. Thank you for sharing your work and inspiring so many to grow in photography.
Thank you Louise. :). You are an inspiration.
Awesome work, as always, John ! The entire series is a delightful visual treat. I was struck immediately by the second image for it looks very much like Ansel Adams’ “Winter Sunrise, Sierra Nevada from Lone Pine.” Just goes to show once again how great minds think alike. : ))
Slainte !
Thank you Bruce! High praise my friend.
Great to see your treatment of this subject/area!
